Mechacademy is a community event built around growth and mentorship. The goal is to bring experienced, pro-level players together with newer competitors in a structured team environment — where coaching, communication, and learning are just as important as winning. For many players, this will be their first time on a broadcast — we want it to be a great experience for everyone.
Each team is made up of 4 players:
Teams are expected to function as a unit. The coaching relationship is central to the spirit of this event.
Mechacademy is open to applicants of all skill levels. There are no fixed MMR brackets — instead, the TOs will manually matchmake student players across teams to create the fairest and most balanced matchups possible.

Each series is made up of 3 student matches, played in an order determined by the TOs.
Match order will be determined by the TOs ahead of each broadcast day. Players will be notified of their match order in advance.
Coaching is actively encouraged during matches — it's the whole point! Here's how it works:
Mechacademy isn't just about the broadcast day — the week leading up to each event is part of the experience too.
There are no tiebreakers in Mechacademy Season 1.
Each series consists of exactly three student matches, all of which are played in full. Because an odd number of matches are always played, the final score will always be 2–1 or 3–0 — a draw is impossible by design. Coaches do not play competitive matches; their role is exclusively to coach and support their students.
Mechacademy is a live broadcast event and every single match will be streamed. Punctuality and attendance are critical — delays affect the entire show and everyone involved.
If you have any doubt about your ability to attend your scheduled event day, please do not register. We would rather build a full roster we can rely on than scramble for a replacement on the day of a broadcast.
Life happens — we get it. If your availability changes after registering, notify a TO immediately through the Mechacademy Discord server. The sooner we know, the more time we have to find a suitable replacement. Last-minute no-shows without notice are unfair to your teammates, your opponents, and the production.
Coaches must be available for the full duration of the broadcast day. In addition to playing and coaching, Coaches will be pulled for on-stream interviews and segments between games to help tell the story of their team. These are a key part of the show — please embrace them!
Students who have finished their match may leave after their game if necessary. However, we strongly encourage everyone to stay — your team may want you in voice chat to learn, discuss strategy, and cheer on your teammates. Staying for the whole event is part of the spirit of Mechacademy.
The team that wins the Grand Final on Day 3 will receive prizes. Prize details will be announced by the TO ahead of the event.
At the conclusion of the final broadcast, a special MVP / Most Improved Player award will be voted on live during the stream. This award celebrates standout performances, growth, and the spirit of what Mechacademy is all about — it's not just about who won the most games.
Prize details for both awards will be announced by the TO ahead of the event. Stay tuned to the Mechacademy Discord for updates.
Mechacademy is a community event, and we want it to be a positive experience for everyone — players, coaches, viewers, and staff. We ask that all participants uphold the following standards:
Violations of the conduct policy may result in a warning, match forfeit, or removal from the tournament, at the TO's discretion. Serious or repeated violations may result in a ban from future seasons.
